Cyrus Cobb and his twin brother Darius were born in Malden, MA in 1834.
From the mid to late 1850’s, the brothers worked together in Boston, practicing lithography. They went on to paint portraits and landscapes and also collaborated on large historical and religious paintings.
Cyrus was also a musician and lawyer, practicing the later profession in Boston from 1867 to 1879. He gave up law, however, and returned to art, achieving considerable fame as a sculptor.
Cyrus died in Allson, MA in 1903.
