William H. Weisman (1840-1922)William H. Weisman received his art education at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and worked in Philadelphia and Detroit before moving to Franconia, NH in 1878. His home and studio were on the Agassiz Road between Franconia and Bethlehem near the source of the Weisman Brook, which was named for him. In his early years Weisman was interested in singing and had some minor parts in grand opera productions. In later life Weisman took up photography and did many White Mountain photographs.
