William Gibbons Preston (1844-1910)

William Gibbons Preston was a painter and well-known architect who was born and died in Boston, MA.  He studied under his father and at Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Paris.  He was a member of the Boston Art Club and exhibited there during the years 1875 to 1898.

Preston illustrated the Pemigewasset Perambulators, a humorous book to commemorate a visit made to the White Mountains in July 1866, describing the adventures of a group of his friends.
