George Edward Niles (1837-1898)

George Edward Niles was a graduate of Harvard.  He lived on Beacon Street in Boston.  His wife was the heiress Adams of the Nickel Bank of Boston.

He was a lithographer as well as a painter.  He kept a studio at Jackson, NH, where he exhibited the works of many other artists.  He was in no need of money, so he rarely sold his paintings.  He rarely signed his works.

He exhibited at the Boston Art Club during the years 1873 to 1877.

(Any further information on this artist would be greatly appreciated.  Please send information to John J. Henderson.)
